CHD Oregon Chapter Sponsors In Our Backyard To Fight Human Trafficking
IN OUR BACKYARD Links Arms Across America in the Fight Against Human Trafficking. The 13th Annual Linking Freedom In Our Backyard is a one-day public awareness and outreach event in which every member of the Los Angeles/Inglewood community is invited to participate and make a tactile difference as the 2022 Super Bowl Host City. For the past twelve years, city hosts link arms to “do something” that empowers the community, survivors, and local nonprofits in the fight against human trafficking. We are proud to link arms with IOB to help end children being trafficked and for missing children outreach.
IN OUR BACKYARD was founded by Nita Belles in Bend, Oregon over a decade ago. In Our Backyard is a national leader with more than a decade of dedication to the fight against sex and labor trafficking. IOB links arms in the fight against human trafficking by empowering communities to prevent this atrocity and creating access to freedom for victims of human trafficking (HT). Exposed to the devastating realities of HT, IOB Founder Nita Belles was driven to take action to stop the exploitation of children, women, and men. Her book, In Our Backyard: Human Trafficking in America and What You Can Do to Stop It, has been acclaimed as the primer on human trafficking in America.
