Portland, Oregon – On Friday, February 25th, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Oregonians of all genders, ethnicities, orientations, socioeconomic backgrounds, political affiliations, and vaccine status will join together at Portland’s Tom McCall Waterfront Park peacefully for a common cause…Freedom!
Public opinion has shifted dramatically over the last 6 months and many citizens from all walks of life are questioning both the lack of transparency and the multiple incompetent, one-size-fits-all, authoritarian governmental approaches to the COVID crisis. The time has arrived for us to hold elected officials accountable to their oaths of office and to We The People from whom their power originates. Continued abuses of this power are NOT acceptable.
Health Freedom is not a radical movement; it has a very long Oregon tradition, and that specific freedom is currently CRITICAL. The public health policies enacted through the COVID-19 crisis destroy all our collective Constitutional rights and threaten to undo the progress made for equality by visionary leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King.
Trust has been injured and divides have widened since this began in 2020, but we can change this for the better starting on February 25th.
The Oregon way has always been to support parents’ rights, openly and respectfully, while debating polarizing topics and working together to solve problems. Mandates are not synonymous with the principles of Freedom we all hold so dear, but instead invite inequality and segregation back into our communities.
The future of Oregon must be based upon equality, inclusiveness, and respect for everyone to see the world differently while still coexisting peacefully, despite making different choices at times from other Oregonians.
Elected officials are the servants of the people, not tyrants who fail to respect the diversity of people and opinions that make our state truly great. When they fail to recognize their proper role, societal divisions and breakdowns always occur. All people have equal, inalienable rights, given by our Creator. These rights are not allowed to us in bits and pieces by politicians or bureaucrats wielding excessive and abusive powers!
In the immortal words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, “The time is always right to do the right thing.”
